I have to be honest, I couldn’t hardly get to sleep last night, thinking about my next blog.
I was so pumped. I celebrated after the first post with a nice bath and a fancy glass of Sobe water.
I have recently discovered just how much God loves to celebrate even the smallest victories, and I assure you, this was no small feat, for this social media challenged girl. I’ve been taking this blogging idea on and off the back burner for over six months. Not because I questioned God wanting me to do it, but questioning if I could.
So, here we are. My procrastinating self, and you, whoever you may be that finds this, embarking on this blogging journey together.
So…. back to the excitement before sleep.
As I laid there, pondering today’s post, the Holy Spirit nudged me…. “what are you so excited about?” He said. “Is it the fact that You have a blog now, or is it about the people that We are going to reach?”
I had to do inventory.
Am I secured and settled in the fact that if no one other than my friends and family read these posts, I will have done what I believe God wanted me to do?
What am I after?
Well, let me just show you…..
This is what I’m after.
Not becoming a flower, but becoming fruitful.
Overflowinly fruitful. Maximizing my God given potential.
Ive shared the thought of that picture with about a hundred people, without getting to show them the real thing. I’ve been sending “blogs” through text messages for almost two years now, but was limited to what could be sent via text. (Isn’t it amazing the things that we could be taking advantage of, but because of our own insecurities, it’s easier to settle for doing what we know.)
Anyway, I was amazed this summer by the bountiful and billowing cascade of these flowers in comparison to the others that I had purchased just like them. I got them all at the same time. They were all getting the same amount of water. They were the same kind of flower, but this one was superseding all the others by far.
Why?
Because it had a greater capacity to grow. The container I placed it in was larger than the others.
To some, that probably doesn’t seem like rocket science, but to me, it was a Word from God. It was a heavenly picture of what my heart desired.
Yes Lord. I’ll take that!
Fruitfulness…Increase….
So, here we are. You and me, and this blog. It’s all a part of the process. (Oh, yes, with increase comes a process.) However, sharing about the process will be a different day.
For Today, On the first day of our new adventure together, I pose this question my friend……
What is the size of your container?
“Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;” Isaiah 54:2
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” Genesis 1:28
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, |
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Genesis 5:22-23 |
He is a rewarder to those who diligently seek him
