You are Here

We’ve all had our finger on a dot somewhere.  Whether it’s the mall or a road map, its an indicator of where we are, as we look around to where we are going.

That’s where I sit with God this morning. Asking Him to show me where I am.

I’ve learned from Adam and Eve, that God didn’t ask them where they were because He didn’t know, but because they didn’t.

They may have had a vague, fleshly, idea of where they were, now, after the fall…..

behind some big tree,  with lots of covering,  in a garden…..

but they had no idea where they were,  spiritually.

So, as I sit here, this morning, placing my finger on God’s Word, the written directory, I’m reminded of a few things.

One, I’m in the midst of fresh mercy. He has a new batch of the Blessing available for His children, daily.

Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. Psalm 68:19

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies Psalm 103:2-4

So, no matter where you and I find ourselves this morning, today is a fresh start. We can lay down what’s not of our Master, in thought or deed, by repentance, (turning around) and pick up right where we may have left off.

For me, I’m turning back towards the Love of God, today.

Jesus said,

2 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. Matthew 24:12

I wouldn’t be honest if I didn’t tell you that I have been struggling with a cold spell.

Not only has there been a nip in the air with the fall season approaching, but I sense it in my soul  as well.

People are mean. They are selfish. They annoy me. Just like Jesus said would happen. And there are times that I just want to “get away”.

There’s nothing wrong with getting away, as long as, like Jesus, you run away to the Father, not from Him.

He’s the Only One Who holds your answers. Our direction is solely found in Him.

So, I asked God where I am in all of this chill.

He reminded me of last deer season. I love to hunt, by the way.

We were all excited. We had been given permission to hunt a friends land, and with all the things that needed to get done, like scouting and hanging our stand, we didn’t spend much time with target practice.

It’s not been that big of a deal before, so as I was a little off on the target, I didn’t sweat it much……

until I missed both of my deer last year!!

One, was a buck that I had been believing for for years.

So, What does deer hunting have to do with my love growing cold?

Well, if you’re off target on either one, you miss what God has for you.

The Word says that Faith works by Love.

God is Love.

When you’re not walking in love, you’re off.

I can’t afford that, and neither can you, my friend.

So, how do we get more love? How do we get a warm up, as we sense our love growing cold?

Contary to what the world says, we can’t make Love.

You can only receive love, and then give it away.

Anything else is manufactured love, and trust me, you can smell a fake love a mile away.

No, You get a warm up by running to Love Himself.

What we need is a revelation of the Love of God toward us.

I’ve been singing, over and over, “I’m loved by the King, and that makes my heart want to sing.”- Chris Tomlin.

Faith comes by hearing. We need to remind ourselves of How much God loves us.

That’s target practice.

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:9-10
