The Great Physician

I had a dream last night that I went to the Dr, and was diagnosed with a Kidney infection.

I’m no  stranger to God speaking to me through  dreams lately, or the fact that God has been dealing with me on certain issues that needed to be addressed.

But I may be a little slow to respond.

Have you ever had your check engine  light come on in your car, only to shrug it off as a minor problem that would just go away on its own?

Or, have your gas light come on, only to make a game out of seeing how far you can drive until you absolutely have to get fuel.

I’ve done both. That tendency is probably what landed me in the Dr’s office this morning.

No, I didn’t go to the local Urgent Care or medical clinic-

Instead, I sat with coffee, and bible in hand, desperately seeking a “good” Word from the Lord when I began to ask, “What’s up Doc?”

Why all of these repentance dreams? I feel like I’ve repented for anything and everything I can repent for. And then I repent for repenting so much??…..

My heart yearns to be clean.

Thats what your kidneys do, by the way, they are designed to filter all the toxins out of your body.

Thus, the corolation of our spiritual and physical “kidneys”.

Is something wrong with my filter? I wondered. Am I not detecting something? All these questions began to arise.

So, I asked the only One who holds the answers, right?

Wouldn’t you?

I say that, smiling to myself, because again, I have a tendency to self diagnose or ask someone who has no medical background whatsoever, to tell me what’s wrong when I have symptoms in my physical body.

Silly I know.

Today, however, I used wisdom and chose to ask the Great Physician.

(He already knew my symptoms)

And, He diagnosed me by dropping these words in My spirit ……

Spirit of Apathy

Want to know the symptoms?

*Apathy is a state of indifference, or the suppression of emotions such as concern, excitement, motivation, or passion. An apathetic individual has an absence of interest in or concern about emotional, social, spiritual, philosophical, or physical life and the world.

That’s Wikipedia’s definition.

Here’s the deal, you can’t change what you don’t confront.

God told us, through Paul in Hebrews Chapter 12, not to become weary of the Lord’s Correction. Whom the Lord Loves, He corrects.

Let’s just say, He’s really been loving me lately!

Yes, He really does love us.

Why would a Good Father leave His child unaware of what could hinder or hurt them?

Ours won’t.

Our Father goes to the Greatest depths to cause us to find ourselves. He already knows where we are. We are the ones who need to agree with our location.

He will use whatever it takes to get our attention.

For that, I’m Thankful.

As the Greatest Physician would, He not only diagnosed me, but cured me. I got delivered by the blood of Jesus, and His Name that is above every name. Apathy included.

Then He gave me some follow up treatment;

1 Corinthians 13 (the cure to apathy)

1 Peter 4 (the protocol of a healthy believer )

and Matthew 24:12( the cause of apathy)

If you’re having symptoms of Apathy, I encourage you to seek treatment. It belongs to you.
