The Devil Isn’t As Smart As You May Think

¶ But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews.

2 And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned?

Our enemies, actually- every enemy, to the cause of Christ, is more limited in their understanding then we, as the real victors, in Jesus, are giving them credit.

“What do you mean Chelsea”…. you may be thinking. “I’m pretty sure  Satan seems to study and mark my every move. His forces seem to always be right there at every turn and waiting for my demise.”

We would think that he’s an expert.

But he’s not.

The Truth is, He has been stripped and exposed by Jesus;

“When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities [those supernatural forces of evil operating against us], He made a public example of them [exhibiting them as captives in His triumphal procession], having triumphed over them through the cross.”

Wow… the enemy has been stripped of power.

Remember how satan kept pestering Jesus with the,  “if you are the Son of God” charade?

He kept asking because he didn’t know.

His, (satan’s ) cohorts,  in this account of the book of Nehemiah,  didn’t know about the rebuilding of Jerusalem either, so they did what they did know how to do, and that, is to make accusations.

Another name in scripture that we see applied to the devil,  is the accuser of the brethren. He talks a lot of smack.

Because he and his army aren’t fully aware of the plans and promises of God in completion, he attempts to get you and I to tell him, when he starts bringing the accusations against us, or accusations about others, to us.

In short, the devil wouldn’t know near as much about our life and our problems if we didn’t tell him.

According to the scripture above, He’s been stripped of any real power. All He has to work with is deception and manipulation,  and then trying to get us to speak opposite the Word of God.

The Pharisees, made an attempt like this with Jesus;

We tell our enemy what’s going on  by complaining to God and to others-

We tell him by murmuring  in our situations instead of Thanking the God who brought us through before.

We may not think that these things are a big deal, but they open up the door for the enemy to to work in our lives.

A wise friend once told me, “Loose lips sink ships.”

We would do well to heed that wisdom.
