“Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You [for forgiveness] in a time when You [are near and] may be found; Surely when the great waters [of trial and distressing times] overflow they will not reach [the spirit in] him.”
PSALM 32:6 AMP http://bible.com/1588/psa.32.6.amp
This reminded me of these song lyrics,
“Who told the ocean, you can only come this far?” from – My Reedemer Lives by Nicole C Mullins,
And of how God told satan he could only go so far, in his affliction to Job? Job 1
There are those times when scripture just sweeps you off your feet.
Thats what happened to me today.
Dust and I had already been talking about how we long to, not let stuff get to us.
Things that others say and do.
Our own failures.
Our fears.
After reeling around in my mind with all of the thoughts that bombard me on a daily basis, and feeling as though I’m in the extra rinse and spin cycle of a washing machine,
I’m overjoyed to learn, that when great waters (of trials and distressing times) overflow, they will not reach my spirit.
I’m sealed.
Let me show you how I see it;
Have you ever vacuum packed anything?
We just spent hours last week vacuum packaging our deer meat-
Knowing that if it’s sealed the right way, it will last.
It’s tedious and time consuming, but Nothing can penetrate from the outside, when something is sealed.
I needed a reminder of this.
One of our mentors told us one time, that the key to not letting things get to you, is not to allow them to blow up in your mind, and then have them seep down into your heart.
In other words, let it go…..quickly.
But what happens when another hurt just piles on top of that one and it seems like the pressure is on and the load is heavier than ever…. the waters just keep rising?
That’s when we have to know, and believe, like David did, in the above scripture, that we are sealed.
And even though we’re surrounded, the waters (trials) can’t penetrate our spirit, because we’re sealed.
*In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Ephesians 1:13
*And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30
