Faithfully

“Circus life under the big top world
We all need the clowns to make us smile
Through space and time, always another show
Wondering where I am, lost without you

[Chorus]
And being apart ain’t easy on this love affair
Two strangers learn to fall in love again
I get the joy of rediscovering you
Oh, girl, you stand by me

I’m forever yours, faithfully” -Journey

I was a rocker BC, (Before Christ) and I’m a stickler for song lyrics, as you may have noticed.

Faithfulness is on my heart this morning, so this song popped up in my mind.

I love the part about circus life.

We, as believers, are called by Jesus to be in this world, but not of it.

However, even being in it can cause us to feel caught up in the circus at times and lost without Jesus.

This song of faithfulness,  despite, the “circus” road show is compelling to me.

I’m thinking about the long haul.

Im thinking of finishing well.

The only way that happens is through faithfulness.

Sticking to Jesus come what may.

But I’ve heard said, and I agree, that we can only truly be faithful, because He, was and is Faithful to us.

I could sing this,

“Oh, God, you stand by me…..

I’m forever yours…. Faithfully.”

All growth starts from a source.

Jesus said it like this;

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. John 15:5

Jesus knew all about the circus life.

He had to be tempted in every single area, just like us, and yet, He overcame sin. Giving us the same ability.

That’s why He encouraged, (by the Spirit) the writer of Hebrews, to tell us we should come Boldly, into His presence to receive Grace and Mercy when we need it.

Just like the song,  space may separate us right now from our Lover, Jesus, but we are connected through the Spirit and forever together,  come what may.

We just need to call Him, (through prayer)  Hear His Voice,  and be reminded that we are in this circus of life, together.

Think of Jesus, singing this song to you, today,

“I’m forever Yours….. Faithfully.”
