“His disciples replied to Him, “Where will anyone be able to find enough bread here in this isolated place to feed these people?””
MARK 8:4 AMP http://bible.com/1588/mrk.8.4.amp
I can totally identify with the disciples this morning.
I look around to what seems a God forsaken world at times, when darkness is all you hear about.
I look to my own wilderness, of what it seems I don’t have, in response to do what Jesus asks of me.
How can we give, when it seems we have so little, in proportion to the innumerable amount of need around us?
We naturally think there’s just no way.
Not here, in this God forsaken place.
But I want to remind you of something that I forget, and the disciples had forgotten that day, when Jesus is with you, so is All of creation.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:3)
And, if you’ve made Jesus Lord, there is never a time or a place when He’s not with you.
He promised;
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5
And the Psalmist described our ever present God like this;
“You have enclosed me behind and before, And [You have] placed Your hand upon me.
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead), behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will take hold of me. If I say, “Surely the darkness will cover me, And the night will be the only light around me,” Even the darkness is not dark to You and conceals nothing from You, But the night shines as bright as the day; Darkness and light are alike to You.”
PSALM 139:5, 7-12 AMP http://bible.com/1588/psa.139.5,7-12.amp
There it is then. We are never without God.
And if we’re not without God, then we’re never,
Without.
I don’t know what Jesus is asking of you right now. I don’t know what you may need, but what I do know is, you’ve got what it takes, because the Creator of everything lives in you.
Jesus knew He was never without His Father, so He never worried about not having enough. He knew that all of Heaven was backing Him.
Scripture says He tested the boys (disciples) that day, because He already knew what He was going to do….
“He asked them, “How many loaves [of bread] do you have?” They said, “Seven.” He directed the people to sit down on the ground; and taking the seven loaves, He gave thanks and broke them, and [repeatedly] gave them to His disciples to set before them, and they served the crowd.”
MARK 8:5-6 AMP http://bible.com/1588/mrk.8.5-6.amp
Jesus is More than enough. When He’s involved, it’s always a crowd pleaser.
If you and I will agree with Him, and put what we do have in His hands with Thanksgiving, He will do the rest.
