Fully Restored

Verse of the Day:
“In that day I will restore the fallen house of David. I will repair its damaged walls. From the ruins I will rebuild it and restore its former glory.”

–Amos 9:11

“And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him. But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth. Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it? And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.”

You know, we’ve been journeying together for a while now, and I have yet to tell you how Fully restored became fully restored.

I’m sure you’ve wondered about the car on my home page. It’s not mine per say, by it came with the man I married.

He has a thing for cars. From what I gather, most men do.

This car, is the epitome of what one would deem fully restored. After my initial stand against it, I’ve come to enjoy and learn from the restoration process and all it entails.

This car, is not only restored, but above and beyond restoration.

It it goes way faster than your average 1980 Malibu.

As I read these two passages of scripture in my quiet time this morning, I realize, that our God, like my man, has a thing for Restoration.

He began to remind  me, as I took note of how He fully Restored that man’s withered hand,

of how He has Restored so many areas of my life.

As a matter of fact,  I could say My family and I have become poster children for Restoration.

God began the process by first Restoring me.

My life had become rusty-

wheels falling off, engine barely running, and a hot mess to look at. I was living far from what God created me to be.

 God not only restored me to my original condition, through the Knowledge of His Word, and my discovering who I was meant to be,  but He has also taken me far beyond what I could have ever dreamed of for my own life.

He added my man, (which added the car) and together with the mighty hand of God, we added two kiddos.

Adding both sides of our families, however, added some differences. Sometimes our relationships seemed totally withered, if you know what I mean.

Our marriage also began to wither at times,  but as we trusted God, and chose to do what His Word said,

by stretching forth our hands to His, 

Jesus did what He does best, and Restoration took place.

Again, above and beyond better than before.

 I want to encourage you today,

I want to encourage me, today,

that if there is a rusty or withered situation in your life-

in your relationships,

maybe in your marriage,

Our God delights in Restoration.

(But remember, Restoration is a process )

That Ol Malibu didn’t get that way overnight.

It has taken years, to tweak it to Perfection.

And still, it has to be maintained.

Stretch forth your hand- to His today and watch the Healing and Restoration process begin. I promise you, it will be above and beyond what you could ever ask or think.
