“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Hebrews 4:12 KJV http://bible.com/1/heb.4.12.kjv
Yesterday, I was helping Peyton pick up some things in the playroom, when I came across a stash of stuff behind the couch. I said, “these will need picked up as well.” Her response, with a hint of attitude, was, “Mom, no one ever even looks behind there.” “God does,” I said!
Then I would come across this scripture this morning, for God to establish what He started planting in me yesterday.
Good or bad, God sees our heart.
He knows every move-
but not just the move, He knows the INTENT behind the move!
I was looking at it yesterday in the light of the positive.
I had a lot of intentions this Christmas season. A lot of things I would have liked to do, people I wanted to contact, and gifts to distribute at certain times, but my husband got sick and there was only so much time.
As I started to get down on myself, God spoke and said, “I KNOW YOUR HEART”!
What a comfort.
He knows yours too. Don’t let the enemy steal another second of your future through condemnation. Pick up right where you are and start LOOKING FORWARD to not only a NEW YEAR, but a NEW DAY…..today!
His mercies are NEW TODAY, remember?!”
*This is actually a text that I had sent out last year on this very day before I moved on up
to blogging!
I wanted to see where I had come in a years time, and I have to say I’m in amazement this morning because I woke up with the same line of thinking.
“Where are some of these thoughts coming from?” I was asking myself, and God.
Then I realized, as I looked at this message that God knows all. I’ve been asking him for a complete purge-
Out with the old and in with the New.
I want to be full of Him and emptied of me even more this year than last year. He knows my heart.
So all of the thoughts, and fears “of all the years”…. (that’s part of a Christmas song, I think)
anyway, all of the junk in our trunk that we think we’ve stashed…
maybe to hide from others,
maybe even what we’ve hidden from ourselves,
God still knows about it and when you’re ready to empty it, He’s more than ready.
When it comes up, we can either stash it back down or purge it.
I’m believing God for “greater things” in 2019.
God is a God of increase, not decrease.
He wants to become a greater influence of our decisions and actions and our old selves less.
John the Baptist said;
He must increase, but I must decrease.
Jesus said, Greater things will you do…..
that can only be done where He is increased.
Where He leads…
not our emotions, not our fear, and not our pride.
I pray that your heart be flooded with His light at the close of this year and awakened afresh to His Intent and Purpose to take you Above and Beyond in 2019.
YES!!
