I got an I watch for Christmas from my man.
It’s very cool. Not only does it help me while I run-
but my brother and I can compete now, to see who is actually faster and stronger, with proof!
Although I just got it, it already has an Update.
I used to be so annoyed by those, even on my phone. But God shared with me this morning, that recieving an Update on that watch is the same as receiving a promise from His Word.
You see, all of Heaven is already in store for us. The Word of God updates us on what the latest version of Promise is to match our need.
As I laid thinking about it this morning, the Holy Spirit, who Himself is an update, revealed that He was actually the first installment to the promises.
| For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. |
| 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. |
| 24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? |
| 25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. |
| 26 ¶ Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans 8 |
The Holy Spirit is the first fruit, of our inheritance of Heaven. Now that I’m thinking of it, when we say that we walk out the fruits of the Spirit, He, the Holy Spirit is the only one making us fruitful.
I’m not down playing His role in our lives, by comparing Him to an I watch, but the Holy Spirit was and is an Update. I’m referring to the earcly church believers receiving the Holy Spirit not long after they had recieved Christ.
Paul had come to find some disciples in Ephesus who hadn’t even heard of Him.
| 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. |
| 3 ¶ And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism. |
| 4 ¶ Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. |
| 5 ¶ When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. |
| 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. |
Why am I sharing this today?
Because I’m totally blessed by having recieved the Update of the Holy Spirit and I believe God wants that for every one of His Children.
We just finished celebrating Christmas.
We celebrated the Truth about God sending the Perfect Gift.
Just like I recieved that I Watch-
It’s fantastic-
But why not recieve all the updates that make everything it has to offer available to me?
For far too long people have been intimidated by the Holy Spirit.
Much like I had been about the updates.
But this is what Jesus, the Truth says about the Holy Spirit;
| If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? |
| 12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? |
| 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? Luke 11:11-13 |
