Hungry Hungry Hippos

We we’re snowed in this past Sunday and didn’t get to make it to church.

Praise God, He is not limited to buildings, and can relay a message to us wherever we are.

My Kids and I decided to have church regardless. So we worshipped in the kitchen that morning, and God brought the message to me while playing Hungry Hungry Hippos with Issac.

I love that little boy so much, but I don’t take it easy on the little fella when it comes to board games.

I had way more in my hippo account, than he did, but when we began to tally our points, moved with Love, and a heart full of compassion, I emptied my marbles into his frail account.

I thought I was just being motherly, until the Spirit of God whispered, “that’s what Jesus did for you.”

21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Romans 5:21

But Issac, being stubborn, sweetly declined me letting him win.

Hmmmm.

This began another teaching moment for the Holy Spirit to speak into my own life:

Reception is the conception of our spiritual life.

It’s the Seed of God’s Word, simply received, that makes conception, or manifestation take place.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12

If you’re familiar with scripture, you’ll remember that even the very essence of our Savior being born into this world was based on reception before conception.

Mary, said unto the Angel;

38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. Luke 1:38

We also have Abraham, the father of Faith, who simply believed God and it was accounted to Him for righteousness.

Yes, it’s that easy.

Believe and Recieve, or doubt and do without.

Pride lies behind our reasoning to not recieve from God.

We either believe we’re not worthy, or we believe that we don’t need Him to do what we think we can handle on our own.

Let me just admonish you my dear friend, the Truth is, You need everything Jesus came and died to give you.

This life isn’t a game of Hungry Hungry Hippos.

Heaven and Hell are real places. Not just a state of mind.

I’ve had enough of a taste of hell in my mind to know that I love people too much to not tell them the truth. I don’t want to think of anyone spending eternity there.

I also know that what I’ve tasted from Heaven and the Father’s Love is enough to want to encourage everyone to make a decision.

It’s as simple as this;

Believing that Jesus died and put all of His goodness and righteousness into our empty account.

Will you believe that?

If you’re saved, and already heaven bound, and you have a need of any kind this morning, it’s been met.

Every promise made by God for your well being is yes and Amen, by the blood of Jesus.

Will you recieve that?

Simple as that!
