“God is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable], A very present and well-proved help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change And though the mountains be shaken and slip into the heart of the seas, Though its waters roar and foam, Though the mountains tremble at its roaring. Selah.”
PSALMS 46:1-3 AMP
Selah means to pause and think about what He is saying;
As I reflect this morning on God’s Faithfulness while I was “facing the giants,”
those foaming, raging, tumultuous situations and thoughts,
I started praising Him again, for just how True His Word is,
No matter what.
Each one of us have had to, we are now, or we will be facing giants in our promised land.
Though they range in size, and take on different forms, they are still giants, when we compare our stature (in the natural) to theirs.
We seem like grasshoppers in their sight,
but I want you to consider this morning, that you aren’t a grasshopper in God’s sight.
I’m learning in every battle I face, that God would never ask me to draw a weapon He didn’t first give.
For instance, Jesus reminded me at the beginning of the week that He left me, and every other believer, His Peace.
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27
As I pondered on it, the Holy Spirit showed me the significance of it, while giving me another example.
His “piece.”
Have you ever heard someone refer to their weapon, especially their gun, as their “piece?”
I thought of Dusty leaving home for a long time and leaving me a means of protection.
Well, so did Jesus.
Have you ever thought of Peace, being your “piece”?
I can tell you that when it’s stolen, you will know it.
I have often let the enemy rob me of my peace.
When I don’t have it, it’s hard for me to defend myself.
But Thanks Be To God, that He is a very PRESENT help in times of trouble.
Not only did He give us Peace, but He, through the Holy Spirit reminds us to use it!
So, How do you use Peace?
Jesus said again in John 14, to not let your heart be troubled.
The only damage the enemy can cause in our lives is what we allow.
When I have lost my peace, it means I’ve lost my “piece,”
my weapon.
Losing something is to have misplaced it.
We can misplace our Peace by focusing on the problem, or even our own strength, and forget that Jesus, left us His Peace.
The very peace that got Him through His time on this earth, and It’s tried and true.
Think about that, Jesus left us His very own weapon.
I don’t know what kind of giant you’re facing today, but I know that no matter what….
the God inside of you is Greater-
An impenetrable and Mighty God, says the above scripture.
If God be For you and with you, who can be successful against you?
Keep your peace and Use it against the enemy.
It’s a weapon. He doesn’t know what to do when he is attacking from every angle and we remain at peace.
When the enemy comes knocking…
pull out your “peace”!
