“Do not be like the horse or like the mule which have no understanding, Whose trappings include bridle and rein to hold them in check, Otherwise they will not come near to you.”
PSALM 32:9 AMP http://bible.com/1588/psa.32.9.amp
I used to have the most beautiful black and white, paint horse.
She was lovely, if you could catch her.
Her beauty did me no good, for the purpose of riding, if I couldn’t catch her.
Once I caught her, she would do mostly what I asked of her, after she was saddled and bridled, but I never really got that attached to her.
Why?
Because there is no bond with anything that you have to make enjoy your company.
God is no different. That’s why He gave us the freedom of choice.
I know to many it seems as though God’s Word is just a list of shall nots- and don’t do’s, but in actuality, it’s a book of,
I love you,
and restored you,
and made a way,
if you choose to walk with me.
Jesus paid the ransom for the whole earth, but God will never supersede a person’s Free will to make them choose salvation, or any other blessing that proceeds out of His sacrifice.
God doesn’t want to bridle and confine us, that’s the enemy’s business, and he’s quite clever at painting a false perception of making us think that’s what God’s Word will do, if we obey it.
He told Adam and Eve God was keeping something from them,
confining them,
but in reality, God had just blessed them with everything they would ever need,
and then some.
They had complete authority over the earth.
How freeing is that?
Yet, they believed a lie.
That God was a taker instead of a giver.
Almost the whole world has heard of John 3:16;
For God So Loved the world….. that He GAVE His only begotten Son…… but still, most people think God is anything but Love.
True Love is sacrifice.
Our God didn’t just say it, He displayed it.
Love Leads by example. Fear controls.
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32
