I believe God spoke to my heart early this morning and said, it’s not as much about the people you win, as the people you serve.
Kind of like no body cares what you know until they know that you care.
We have made a lot of “knowers” in the body of Christ, but where are all the “believers”?
I know, because I’ve been a “knower” who wants to go out and win people for Jesus, on my own.
That’s dead works. Fruitless.
Only when I’m abiding In Him, am I bearing any fruit that would draw others to Jesus.
But we can get so caught up in our own way of soul winning, we miss out on the true call of making disciples.
“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
Galatians 5:13-14 KJV https://www.bible.com/bible/1/gal.5.13-14.kjv
As I’m re-writing this, rather, God is authoring this through me, I’m reminded of a story someone told me long ago.
It’s a Parable, of course.
There was a man who owned and operated a gas station.
He wanted to go all out for God, so He sold it and began a world wide ministry.
But when He got to Heaven, excited about all He had done, and so many of the people he “won” for Jesus where His ministry led him,
Jesus responded;
“That is indeed good, there were 500 saved.”
“However, if you would have stayed at the gas station, where I planted you, there would have been thousands.”
It’s important for me to note today, where God has planted us, and why.
His thoughts are not our thoughts.
He is very strategic and we tend to be emotional, and self seeking.
That Gadarean Man who was delivered by Jesus (Mark 5)
begged Jesus to travel along side Him.
But His testimony wouldn’t be the same, or hold as much weight, in a place where people didn’t know the severity of his prior condition.
Same with the Woman at the Well.
She ran back into her hometown,
and told her testimony there.
And many were made believers.
We often do like Paul said,
we judge each other by each other, competing with the individual calls, that God Alone places on our lives.
This world, and even ministry to the World, is not a stage. We are not performers seeking our own glory.
The Glory belongs to what Jesus accomplishes through us.
So, God has led me to switch gears.
Laying down the idolatry of a global ministry into what will be most effectual for Him.
Jesus said, that Greater love Has no man, than laying down His Life for His friends.
Jesus is my best friend, and today, I lay down my way, for His.
When I’m found solely in Him, I won’t be able to help bear fruit and minister His Grace.
To anyone, anywhere He leads me.
First and foremost, in my own home.
