It’s been awhile since I’ve ran.
I stopped because I was believing a lie.
I thought I was too sick to run.
After finding out on Tuesday, that what I had been battling in my body was never there, I decided to run.
But then company came.
Ok, Wednesday… nope, not enough time.
Yesterday, too many errands.
You get my drift.
Once you get away from something for awhile, the easier it is to believe a lie.
What’s one more day, right?
Well, Paul says this;
While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. Hebrews 3:15
As long as there is still today for you and I, there’s a fresh start and an opportunity to run.
It may not be physically running, but whatever your disappointment, or the thought that you’ve let go of something and gone too far, that’s a lie.
“You can run today,” is what the Lord reminded me this morning.
(This is another well, I’m digging from and yet here is my Word from this morning to match it);
It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. |
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23 |
I was mulling over all that I had done to let Him down, and how I’ve just let myself go, you know, the usual lines of condemnation….
I don’t know if you’ve ever thought that you may have done something to cause God to give up on you, but the Truth is you have Not,
not if there’s a today.
Jesus paid for today.
He paid for fresh mercy.
He paid for revived hope.
He paid for us to run;
I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart. Psalm 119:32
