Mutter or Murmur

It’s a choice…you know…

What we do with our tongue.

Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. James 3:5-6

The tongue can either set fire to the course of “natural” things, or supernatural things.

Look at your tongue as the door of which direction you choose to travel.

Either into life, or into death.

What a Good Father that gave us the ability to choose.

Then He even told us what to Choose….

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: Deuteronomy 30:19

That choice for us, in the New covenant, came through the sacrifice of Jesus.

We can choose to mutter;

(reminding ourselves, continually,  that the price has already been paid-

and that we have access Now to everything we could ever need)

We then, rehearse the Promises Of God, bringing faith and life to our situation.

Or, we murmur,

(talking endlessly about what we see, and how impossible the situation looks

and complain,

depleting Faith And bringing death.

I know I keep saying how amazing it is for me that I wrote these months ago and yet, it’s exactly what I need today.

We’ve all had pop up situations, where we’re challenged to decide whether We will just complain and remain…

ungrateful, unsettled and without peace,

or,

start using our tongue to murmur and chatter the promises of God,

building our faith to receive what Heaven, through the expensive blood of Jesus,

has purchased for us.

In addition to what I heard in my heart the other day, I would get a confirmation, through an email early this morning,

“loose lips, sink ships”!

Father, by your Sweet Grace, Help us Keep a Guard over our mouths.

In Jesus Strength,

Amen
