SAME GOD; different day

It’s been a bit since I’ve mentioned the “trail.”

Remember the Adventure we are on?

In the beginning,  I compared this journey with Jesus,

like being a long hike.

Take for instance-

the Appalachian Trail.

It spans many miles of rough terrain and unexpected twists and turns.

Every day is different.

Although it’s been marked, there are still opportunities to drift or swerve off the right path from time to time.

So let me put this into Faith Terms this morning, and share what the Holy Spirit is dealing with me about.

First of all, we aren’t on this journey alone.

It’s not like we’ve been thrusted out into the Wilderness to fend for ourselves.

But it’s something how days on this earth feel like that at times, huh?

The Truth is, however, we have a Partner.

A Hiking Buddy.

I adore my husband. I think the man can do just about anything, and no matter where we go or what we do, I feel safe in his presence.

Jesus reminded me this morning, that He is our spiritual Husband, and He walks along side us.

He also walks ahead of us.

Dust will at times walk ahead of me to clear my way from the spiders or to be on the watch for snakes.

Jesus cleared  the trail ahead for us as well, by Giving His Word.

The Lamp unto our feet, and the Light unto our path.

He clears the path by warning us of what’s ahead and He keeps us from deception.

Remember how He told His disciples;

Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he. John 13:19

I was going to say I don’t know how many times I’ve had this happen, but as I look over my life spent with Jesus,

even in the most desperate situations,

where I felt encompassed by the darkness,

He still shed His Light for me.

It’s actually the way of Life with Him.

His Rod, and staff, they always comfort me.

The Rod is the Word, and the Staff is the Holy Spirit, And they agree on what they are saying to me.

They speak through many forms.

A friend’s text out of the blue.

A message from a Pastor.

A smile or a hug.

A Word of Knowledge……

Even a Song.

Yes, Jesus never has left my side, and He will not leave yours either.

He is the Prince of Peace.

I don’t know where you may be on the trail today…

but look for the “markers.”

God is always speaking and showing us the way if we are looking.

Then Praise Him for those trail treasures along the way.

Praise Lifts us into His Presence in a tangible way.

You can be weathering a fierce storm on the trail and yet be at peace in His Presence.

Take heart in Him today my friend..

We press onward!
