Fill er Up

“And now out of his fullness we are fulfilled! And from him we receive grace heaped upon more grace!”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭TPT‬‬ https://www.bible.com/bible/1849/jhn.1.16.tpt

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

I remember pulling up to the “fill” station, as they used to call it,

or gas station when I was a kid,

and my parents would blurt out of the window,

“just fill er up.”

Most everyone knows, Fuel is what sustains a vehicle.

We as believers, run on Grace.

That first scripture says out of His Fulness are we fulfilled.

Only Grace will cause us to run efficiently.

We can’t start out in Grace and then switch over to the flesh like some of these new economy cars.

The same way we shouldn’t put gas in a diesel truck.

Ask me how I know.

No, we are designed to run off of Grace and only Grace will do.

When we start to slow down and sputter, that’s a good indicator that our tank is about empty…

And it’s Time to go boldly before the Throne to get some more Grace.

Our Father is more than willing to give us what we need.

And then some….

He gives an Abundance of Grace, because wants us to run in this life,

with a marathon mentality.

Not just a one day dash.

That would be like buying a car,

and driving it until it runs out of gas and then

just parking it in the driveway.

We aren’t called to stay parked.

No, God intends for us to refuel, and take territory.

The Word says that they who receive the Abundance of Grace, will reign in life;

let’s  look at that Word reign;

  1. to be king, to exercise kingly power, to reign
    1. of the governor of a province
    2. of the rule of the Messiah
    3. of the reign of Christians in the millennium
  2. metaph. to exercise the highest influence, to control

This was the Blue Letter Bible description of the Word.

Looks to me like Grace puts us Over.

We are no more victims, but Victors!

We were made to reign.

We are Fueled by Grace to accomplish whatever the task , or test may be.

Some days that may be as simple as doing that laundry you’ve let pile up.

Other days Grace may require you to face a life threatening situation.

Either way, He promised His Grace would be sufficient.

You CAN do all things Through Christ who gives you the strength.

So, I encourage you today, if you seem to be sputtering or feeling low,

Go to the Father and let Him fill you back up-

to overflowing.
