So, I’m in John Chapter 5.
“Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.”
John 5:2-4 KJV
It amazes me that although God was limited to the law here (before Jesus)
and blessing people by obedience to it,
He would still try and “throw”them more than what they were deserving of.
It’s like that Papa who always wants to see the children blessed with sweets even after mom says no.
That’s putting it mildly.
Do you know the Word says in Isaiah 53 that it pleased the Lord to bruise His Son to get us back?
Just today, I explained to my little girl what “for Christ’s sake” really means,
Contrary to how it’s been used in vain.
Andrew Womack sharpened my understanding of it when He said,
“if Jesus paid the penalty for sin and disease, why should we allow it?”
For Christ’s sake-
For everything He went through.
So, I refuse the curse.
I refuse defeat.
I refuse sickness and death.
For Christ’s sake.
We had a report come at us today, a fatal one.
But Jesus is GREATER than fatality,
And He can raise up the right standard-
at the right place-
if we will agree with Heaven.
If two of us are gathered touching anything- Jesus says we can have,
Then we will have it.
Just catch another glimpse of His Goodness with me, will you?
He loved us before we were ever worthy.
He made us worthy to begin with.
For Christ’s sake, let Him love you.
