Distance Runner

“But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.”

‭‭John‬ ‭5:36‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It is Finished.

I don’t know about you, but I need those three little words tattooed somewhere on my Forehead.

How is it that I just skim over that sometimes or hear it read as we celebrate at Easter?

Those three little Words saved my life.

It is Finished.

The Finished Work of My King-

He went the distance and carried out our Father’s Will for us to have this fellowship.

The Old Covenant prophets couldn’t do that.

This truth changes how I see going to church today.

It changes how I want to live my life.

It changes how I see my position when I’m dealing with the enemy.

It changed History.

Jesus, I’ve realized,  is a Spiritual Marathon runner.

He’s also our coach.

Who better to coach us, then the One who has already gone the distance?

Looking unto Jesus-

The Author and the Finisher of our Faith.

Running the Race is only part of it.

We have to finish.

And finish well.

I’m praising Him today that He finished the race for me so that I could pick up His Baton.

The torch has been passed, backed by His Grace.

We can finish strong.

He would never start something in us, He hasn’t already finished!

As I’m mulling back over all of this, I’m reminded of a Word spoken over Dust and I this weekend.

First of all, the Lord said for me to go back over my first works.
That’s what led me here.
This post originally got started back in July.
But  now, it’s emphasized even more, as we had someone speak over us and declare we had fire in our bellies!
That’s the torch.
We’ve set our hearts to run strong in this next season.

Setting others ablaze.
We’re lit!

Let this be the baton from Jesus to your heart today.

Pick up the pace by His Grace.
Run with full assurance that the race is already won.

We’re just carrying out the Victory.
