“When you are tempted don’t ever say, “God is tempting me,” for God is incapable of being tempted by evil and he is never the source of temptation.”
James (Jacob) 1:13 TPT
Who put the fruit trees in the Garden?
Or why?
(Most people ask)
And then told Adam and Eve not to eat?
The Answer to both, is God.
Yet, let’s look at Truth.
God gave them the desires of their heart in Abundance.
There was nothing different about that one piece of fruit, among the countless blessed fruit trees, other than the lust that lurked in their hearts through listening to the enemy.
They had to make a decision.
Do we trust that God knows what will make us happy…
Or do we look for another?
As I just scrolled through my camera roll on my phone, I’m Thanking God for the luxury of the life He’s Given me.
If I’m looking all the time at other people’s pictures, I’m tempted to think mine is better or not enough.
The second witness to this truth came in a sitcom we were watching, where before social media came on the scene, a couple picked up another couple’s pictures on accident.
As they began to compare their boring life to that of the thrill seeking couple,
They seemed to be lacking something.
Crazy, because they were perfectly happy just minutes before.
What am I getting at…
No, it’s not bad to look at someone else’s life from time to time, but don’t compare it to the luxury God has given you.
When you realize you ALREADY have everything, you’ll stop looking for something more!
