My daughter was given the task of trash burning this morning and I also had loads of laundry that needed attention,
but I was prompted to take her her favorite drink and grab me a V8 energy for a “toast”.
When I got up there- I asked her to give the speech.
She said, “cheers to using my knife to cut boxes and play with fire unsupervised!”
I cackled at her humor, and then “cheersed” to my laundry “party” I was headed to.
I know, some of you may be thinking, “seriously… ”
But I walked away with the understanding that every thing in life is based on our decisions.
We can choose to look at anything as a mundane chore or an opportunity to be happy.
While I’m writing this, I’m preparing for my Grandmother’s (who is one of my best friends)
I heard the Spirit of God say, “don’t plan for a funeral, but a celebration.”
So that’s what I’m going to do.
We really have been gifted by God with the power of Choice.
I can choose to be depressed or choose to rejoice.
There has been gifted to me a Garment of Praise for the spirit of heaviness,
But it’s my choice to put it on.
Just like you choose the clothes you want to wear each day.
When we were younger, our parents chose them for us,
But now, we are no longer children.
God won’t choose for us.
He’s already laid it all out there, but He won’t make us put it on!
So, cheers to Heaven.
Cheers to HOPE.
Cheers to Knowing where my Grandma is today and Believing that it’s far better, the Apostle Paul said, to be there-
in the Presence of the King…and Our Father.
