The Gift that Keeps on Giving

“The sacrifice, that Saved my Life…..

Oh the Blood of Jesus, rescued me.”

I look around at my restored family, and at the incredible life God has built for me,

And these song lyrics started to bubble up inside.

I could never have done this on my own.

My own life, in my own hands, was destructive.

I was headed towards death.

Then He called me out.

And by His Grace,

I listened.

He gave His life, to give me mine.

And the life He gave, Keeps on Giving.

Every perfect gift comes from Him.

(I pause here to share an idea that my family and I used from one of my recent devotionals.

We took a bag of Christmas bows and went around the house attaching one to every “gift” God has Already given us… the hot water from our faucet, the refrigerator stocked with food… Isaac had a blast sticking bows on all of his toys and even on us! We were so excited to be reminded of the faithful Love of God.)

The gift of His life shouldn’t just be celebrated at Christmas.

That’s a start.

But every day we can look around and celebrate.

His multifaceted Love abounds all around us.

“On the first day of Christmas,

MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME;”

“Grace to you and peace [inner calm and spiritual well-being] from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:2‬ ‭AMP‬‬
