First Responders

I’m Thankful for the professional line of First Responders.

Those who answer the call and show up first to the scene.

So, I was super stoked to find out that our church will be hosting a preparation for dinners being made for the first responders of our area this Christmas Eve.

But as I’m thinking of what all that entails this morning,

I just read about Mary, the mother of Jesus.

She was a first responder.

And the Shepherds,

And the wise men.

They all responded without hesitation to the plan and purpose of the Birth of the King.

When you go back and read Luke 2, you see their obedience without hesitation.

Was there astonishment?

Sure, but the willingness to follow the will of God superseded any of that.

As I said before, Christmas has already come.

But the Gift that keeps on Giving lives in you and I.

I want to be a first responder to the will of God in my life.
