The fatted calf

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Provisions have been made, dear friend.

I write to you this morning with the same words leaping off of this page into my very own heart.

I believe We are Saved by Grace.

Grace is the Fatted Calf provided by our Sweet Lord.

He became nothing so that we can have access to everything.

But I find myself believing that although I was Saved by Grace,

Meaning I took up a new residence in Heaven,

That I still have to fend for myself on earth.

I have been believing lies.

I’m pairing this blessed truth, of everything that Grace paid for,

with yet another witness that the Holy Spirit put in my view,

Bearing His heart for us today;

“So the king sent even more servants to inform the invited guests, saying, ‘Come, for the sumptuous feast is now ready! The oxen and fattened cattle have been killed and everything is prepared, so come! Come to the wedding feast for my son and his bride!’ “But the invited guests were not impressed. One was preoccupied with his business; another went off to his farming enterprise. And the rest seized the king’s messengers and shamefully mistreated them, and even killed them.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22:4-6‬ ‭TPT‬‬

So the King sent even more servants…..

The King I love, who first loved me,

Sends out an army to find us.

That’s how much He wants our fellowship.

He yearns to bless us.

He is an Amazingly Good Father.

But notice the responses.

The invited guests were not impressed.

How could that be?

They were beckoned by the King of Glory.

I know how it could be. I personally experienced it for years.

I was the one about my business.

Oh Father, I pray that We never lose sight of the phenomenon of being invited.

We weren’t just invited for a Wedding Feast and then to be sent away afterwards,

But to linger in the Joy of Salvation.

Dining daily with the King.

Receiving, and Giving Thanks for the luxurious provisions that have been made.

I encourage you, if you are reading this and have never accepted your invitation,

Today is your day.

He’s sending out servants to beckon you.

If you have been invited,

Like me,

Please don’t sit around at the King’s Table,

Starving for anything.
