But He was wounded for my transgressions.
He was bruised for my iniquities.
The chastisement of my peace was upon Him.
And by His stripes, I was healed. Isaiah 53:5
Have you ever seen a little child “carrying” something for their parents?
They really think they are doing the heavy lifting while mommy or daddy truly bears the weight.
They feel like they are so pleasing by carrying the burden.
We tend to do that, don’t we?
But we have it wrong.
The Word says that it pleased the Lord to bruise Him.
For me to take a bruising too, would demean what the Father and our Savior worked out.
If Jesus carried my shame and sickness, I’m dropping them.
If He was chastised for my peace, how dare someone accuse me, or try and rob my innocence in Christ?
I heard a minister say, “For Jesus sake, Be healed.”
Think about it.
Really think about it.
If you and I truly believe Isaiah 53 and the rest of the Word of God,
Why are we continuing to try and pay double.
It’s a mockery to the Blood that was shed for us.
God is Patient.
The Greatest Father known.
I believe He’s graced our child-like misunderstandings.
But as silly as a child “carrying” what mom and dad have actually carried,
Even sillier, and down right disrespectful, would be an adult taking the credit for what has already been accomplished by another.
Jesus paid for us.
The only “help” He needs, is our receiving of the precious gifts He gave.
He is the Hero.
Worship belongs to Him alone.
