What kind of Father

It’s been a while since Father has awakened me without me being fully awake.

What I mean by that,

is that the things that I’m becoming aware of,

that He is ministering to me about ,

aren’t really dreams, but rather the awareness of His Presence and His wanting to get something across to me before I wake up and lose thought by distractions of the day.

Sometimes it’s just a Praise song rolling over and over.

This morning was different.

I became aware of His desire to share with me about His Fatherhood.

In the Word,

Jesus,

The Life Giving Son, who knew the Father intimately,

posed this question,

to the mocking and unbelieving religious elites,

“What kind of Father….?”

What kind of Father,

He goes on to say in Luke Chapter 11:11

If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he asks for a fish give him a serpent?

Jesus was laying the foundation of the character of a Good Father.

And he was comparing a good earthly father, and that if his concern and care for his child is evident,

where do you think his good heart of provision came from?

I think of that often.

If I love my children, and  I do every thing in my power to set them up for success and security,

then how much more, does the Ultimate Father of Love want to care and provide?

But from the beginning, in that garden….

Just stop right here with me, and I’ll take you on the tour that Father took me on this morning.

Enter the Garden.

First of all, according to scripture, man kind didn’t even enter the garden before Provision was made.

And was provision ever made?

I imagine the sight.

The splendor.

The aroma of every flower and plant displaying the Glory of God.

I imagine Hawaii but still feel that it’s failing in comparison.

The point is, not only did Father provide, but He provided lavishly.

Our Father has luxurious taste.

I’m overwhelmed right now in my own “garden” by the array and detail of every heirloom seed we have purchased for it this year.

The varieties seemingly never end, and yet each seed is the very promise that Father made in the beginning.

That they would continue to produce after their kind.

You and I are living proof of that Word as well.

But there was a deceiver in that Garden, and one who tries to lurk in ours as well.

We could debate about why he even got to be there and why God gave them a choice,

but stay with me on the focus that God had provided,

EVERYTHING,

even the dominion to take authority over the serpent, the deceiver.

He was subtle he was,  and cast a shadow on the Provision of God-

questioning to whether he was a Good Father by getting their eyes off of Provision and alluring them to what they might be missing out on.

In reality, God had given them everything and the enemy was attempting to steal it.

I want to ask you this morning my friends,

What has God not provided for you?

I started to write-

what is it that the enemy is attempting to steal from you, and then the Holy Spirit said, Ask what God hasn’t provided,

first.

If we have our roots in Father’s Love and Provision, and the Truth that we already have everything,

we will see the snake’s motive and take the Authority God gave us over him.

We have the privilege , because of what Jesus did for us, to once again rule our Garden.

I pray today, that we keep our eyes on what we already have.

Then, and only then, will we be able to counter the enemy’s  lies.

Jesus said in Luke 10:19

Behold, I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions; and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Thank you Jesus for buying our Garden back.

Because of your finished Work,

We take up our Authority to rule and reign in our Garden as you intended us to.

We already have everything we need to do so- Thanks to You.
