“Very early on Sunday morning, just at sunrise, they went to the tomb. On the way they were asking each other, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” But as they arrived, they looked up and saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled aside.”
Mark 16:2-4 NLT
I’m smitten with God- Again.
I was almost giddy just now, as I read about these women, and what they found at their “Sunrise Service.”
In their hearts they had prepared to take care of the body of Jesus-
But when they got to where they were going, they found So much more…
This speaks volumes to me this morning, about the things of our heart, in wanting to be a servant unto the Lord.
The Word says in Philippians 2:13-
that it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His Good pleasure.
Then,
He Glories in surpassing your expectations.
Have you ever been like these women?
Wondering how your going to accomplish what you’ve set out in your heart to do to serve the Lord?
Has the stone ever seemed too big in front of you,
But your love for the Master pressed you forward anyway?
That’s God at work in you!
And then….once you get there-
He goes above and beyond what you could ask or think….
According to the power at work within you. Ephesians 3:20
Notice these women,
They still made a move.
Despite the obstacles.
Had they not gotten up, and gotten with it, they wouldn’t have experienced what they did.
They wouldn’t have been the first anyway.
But Hallelujah, they were.
And what they experienced next was monumental!
“When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a white robe sitting on the right side. The women were shocked, but the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Look, this is where they laid his body. Now go and tell his disciples, including Peter, that Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you before he died.””
Mark 16:5-7 NLT
“Just as He told you before He died.”
There is that Word confirmation again.
Jesus gave the Word, circumstances happened, yet the Word manifested.
The Word is unstoppable!
That’s who He is.
That’s what He does.
He speaks, and things Happen.
That’s the Power of Resurrection Life.
In Jesus, and now in you and I.
And what were those women told to do after they experienced it-
Go tell…..
As I said, when we get back in Matthew 24, That’s the last “shop” we will stop in.
But for now….. Let’s celebrate with these women.
Let’s celebrate with each other.
Let’s talk amongst ourselves about the Glory of God and what was accomplished in His Rising.
He is RISEN, and because He has, so have we.
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1
