I heard the phrase “forest fire” in my spirit during the night last night.
A bit alarmed I walked upstairs to see if the dog was barking at something in particular.
I saw nothing but the last little bit of night.
It was after 5.
I laid back down pondering and praying in the Spirit.
This is what came after that.
Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! James 3:5
How great a matter…..
Forest fires (a great matter) can be started with someone throwing out something as small as a cigarette butt.
And, in the same way, things get blown way out of proportion, in a hurry,
or seemingly, take off with what we say.
I was having the conversation with Dust yesterday over the medical professionals, politicians, and public,
About their “forecasts” over the next few months.
It’s all a haze.
Everyone has a different opinion.
Similar to the weather channels when you’re trying to pack for vacation.
But may I please direct you to the Truth.
Not what is coming from opinions, or logic, or
Fear.
James has a lot to say about big matters being TURNED AROUND, by the smallest instruments.
And He says, through the inspired Word of the Holy Spirit,
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
We start forest fires!
I believe what has happened at any time in our lives, according to this truth, has its root in what has been spoken.
Defiling our lives, or building our lives.
Whether in homes, or churches, or nations.
God used Words to create everything.
The enemy uses our words, to destroy–
If we let loose with them, unbridled.
The next verse goes on to say that everything can be tamed by man.
For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
Every kind of beast.
Diseases are live organisms.
They are still beasts, and they can still be tamed by OUR TONGUE.
God gave man the Authority over the earth.
Adam lost it, but it was given back to us through Jesus.
But we use it one way or the other.
But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. James 3:8-9
We are using our God given Authority, all the time.
We are either starting fires, or we put them out.
I pray today, first of all, that your mind and heart have been quarantined.
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
It’s like momma used to say,
“If you can’t say something Life, then don’t say anything at all.”
I added to it a little.
I believe our Father wants His Church family to know, that we can change this whole ship around by our tongue.
WE CAN PUT THIS FIRE OUT.
Together.
Speak the Word.
Stop speaking the opinions of others.
Stop speaking death.
Stop forecasting failure and defeat.
If you’re not there yet.
Get back in quarantine.
Get your mind made up that you’re going with the Truth.
Not what you feel.
Not what’s on Tv.
Not what you’ve been taught by Grandma your whole life.
But put your mind in the Word.
Let it sink in your heart,
And then be a blessing to the world around you,
Speaking Life.
Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. James 3:4
We can Do this.
Jesus said we could.
