“Do you really think that you are greater than our ancestor Jacob who dug this well and drank from it himself, along with his children and livestock?””
John 4:12 TPT
It’s amazing isn’t it?
What we clench so tightly too-
because we lack revelation knowledge.
This woman was so confused-slash- “sure” of her religion,
That while speaking to Life Himself, she basically asked,
“Who do you think you are?”
“Coming to this well, and asking me for water.”
And yet, He was the water.
Don’t we often reason the same?
Truth tries to break through deception and we are holding ever so tightly-
to our mediocre bucket that we’ve been used to.
We fail,
As Jesus said to her,
To see the Gift God is yearning to give to us.
But Praise God for His Love.
It’s relentless.
And again, Jesus answered her confusion.
In essence,
He told her it’s not where you worship, but who and why.
I believe I’m going to be hanging here for a while.
There’s a “well”-th of Revelation in John 4.
But for today, I want to ask you something,
Are you thirsty enough-
to trade your worn-out, barely enough-
water bucket- of religious ideas and traditions-
To trade for life sustaining and overflowing Water-
The Source, Himself?
As I asked the Holy Spirit where I am in all of this, He said,
When I called you to the well,
I wanted to make a trade.
I wanted your thirst, in exchange for my overflowing well.
Jesus always asks permission to make a trade.
He forces His Love upon no one.
He knew she was thirsty.
He knew I was thirsty.
It was no coincidence He met her there.
And it’s no coincidence that He’s meeting you here.
“Wearied by his long journey, he sat on the edge of Jacob’s well. He sent his disciples into the village to buy food, for it was already afternoon. Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink of water.””
John 4:6-8 TPT
He’s asking you for a drink today.
Will you give it?
He wants what’s in your tightly clutched hand, in exchange for His supernatural Abundance.
