“Your crucifixion with Christ has severed the tie to this life, and now your true life is hidden away in God in Christ.”
Colossians 3:3 TPT
As I read this, I was reminded of the Cinderella story.
The King’s heart,
Belonged to her.
That slipper fit her perfectly.
Although darkness tried to keep her bound,
The King sought her out.
Brothers and Sisters,
We are Cinderella, and Jesus is our King.
His Love for us has searched the depths, and He has brought us out of the chambers of darkness.
Now, we can start unpacking the Kingdom,
and learn how to dwell in our promises.
Think of it.
The change that had to take place from prison mentality to palace mentality.
Yet, that’s exactly what has to happen.
We have to change our minds.
We are severed to the old prison life.
That’s what the scripture says.
No longer bound in or by darkness.
But what would happen if Cinderella didn’t change her mind?
Instead, she kept visiting the ugly step mother’s house every day, because she failed to believe what the King said about her.
When she got hungry, she resorted to the scraps the slaves were allowed to eat, instead of feasting with the King.
When she had a need, she stayed in want, believing the lie that she was helpless.
She would indeed, be royalty, because of the covenant that had been made,
But she would be living back in prison due to her own lack of understanding.
Not because the King desired it.
I don’t know what seemingly has you bound today,
But if you’re a believer, and bound,
You’ve been deceived.
The truth is,
You ARE royalty.
The King brought you out.
Jesus paid it ALL.
You’re no longer a slave to fear, lust, lack or unforgiveness.
You’re not a prisoner to your circumstances.
Your chains are gone..
You’ve been set free, “Gus Gus.”
(You know….Cinderella… the little fat mouse in the cage- he was being set free but afraid to come out)
You may be thinking today, that you once took your place at the palace but now you’re back in prison-
Well, today is a new day.
Arise, and come out of there.
Change your mind.
The King is waiting with open arms.
His mercies are new every day.
If the shoe fits, Wear it!
