“Finally, brothers and sisters, pray continually for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be honored [triumphantly celebrated and glorified], just as it was with you;”
2 Thessalonians 3:1 AMP
God is speaking to my heart this morning about the essence of the Christian life.
It’s almost been categorized as just another religion, but the truth is, Christ is the Source of Rapidly Spreading Life.
If you’ve ever seen the Chronicles of Narnia, by C.S Lewis, you’ve seen the concept of everything that Azlan, or the Kingdom of Light touching,
turn what was frozen, into lush, living beauty.
I started to ponder my own life.
When Jesus found me, I was frozen.
All stemming from the pride of trying to control my own life, which I had done a horrible job at.
Hearing the Good News, I was told that I was in fact, made for a purpose.
First, I was purposed to become a daughter of God, and second, to reign in that position- as an heir of God and a joint-heir with Jesus.
Much like the children in the fictional story, I began taking baby steps to what I was meant to become, drawn each day, by the Light.
I thought back to how the “Sons of Adam” gradually stepped closer and closer to Azlan, all the while turning frozen things to their intended purpose,
by the life they were meant to find.
Despite hardship, they were able to see the difference in kingdoms as they walked forward.
Brothers and Sisters, that’s what should classify Christianity and set us apart.
There should be a difference in the kingdoms.
If light isn’t penetrating the darkness in your life, something is wrong.
Knowing the Truth, and the clarity of the Gospel, will set you free.
Lists of things to do and worship services are not uncommon among other religious activity.
But I just heard yet another confirmation to make my heart leap,
And it was this…
Activity is not the same as productivity.
And busyness is not the same as fruitfulness.
The indicator that Christ is at work in your life, is just that,
Are things in your life turning from darkness into light?
I’m not talking about the lack of hardship.
Don’t mistake what I’m saying.
But I’m talking about the hardship turning into testimony.
That’s how we OVERcome.
I’m so fired up right now about the importance of testimonies.
I’ve actually been meditating the past couple of days on what a testImony means.
Notice the big “I” in the middle.
Right between test and mony.
What I choose will determine whether I overcome.
If I choose God’s Word to take me over the test,
I will come to the other side with the testimony.
If I choose to just mony, I’ll stay in the test.
We’re assigned, as the Sons and Daughters of God, to rapidly spread the light.
Each day, as we become more aware of who we are, and who we are moving towards, we let the Light in, and let it shine out- touching our frozen world.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Luke 4:18-19
This is True of every Son and Daughter of God.
I ask, like Paul for us to pray for each other, that the Truth and Light spread rapidly to this frozen dark world.
