“For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and everything that is in them, and He rested (ceased) on the seventh day. That is why the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy [that is, set it apart for His purposes].”
Exodus 20:11 AMP
I love thinking like I’m the daughter of God!
And I am.
I remember being a kid..
I wanted to do everything I saw my daddy do.
I see the same heart in my children with their daddy.
We were actually designed that way.
Of all the things we hear about being “born” a certain way, this in fact, is the way we were born.
We were made in the image of our Father.
Jesus said, if you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the Father.
I know that’s a bold statement, but we are in Christ, right?
I’m not saying we’re God, but I just told my hubby last night,
about the awareness of the Father’s presence and “presents” in Him towards me.
We display the heart of God when we allow His Spirit to lead us.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Romans 8:14
One way we are led by the Spirit-
is through obeying what the Word says to do.
One of those things in particular, that popped up today, is to rest.
If I watch the life of my Father,
in six days He worked,
then He took the time off to rest.
We make excuses as to why we don’t,
but really,
it’s because we aren’t setting our hearts to pattern after our Father.
We don’t,
Because like a lot of children, we believe the lie that we know what’s best.
Have you ever tried giving your kids a command that you know is for their own good, but they scoff as to why they know better…?
Ending up harming themselves.
That’s a key word.
What we do, by disobedience, we bring on ourselves.
Most people today, children of God included, are burned out.
Because they fail to rest.
They fail to rest in the Provision God has made.
If the God of creation was able to rest after the earth was formed and filled,
I would say the command is more than appropriate.
And, for our best interest.
But rest, isn’t just about a day.
It’s an attitude of surrender.
It responds to the Father the way He desires and is pleased….
It’s Faith in what He said, and did, for us.
I have said and will say again,
If you’re looking for the perfect gift to bless Our Father…
For Father’s Day,
Believe in the Son, whom He sent, to pay for your rest.
Allow, The Rest of your life, to be the Best of your life.
