“And he has appointed some with grace to be apostles, and some with grace to be prophets, and some with grace to be evangelists, and some with grace to be pastors, and some with grace to be teachers.”
Ephesians 4:11 TPT
I’ve only met one person who ordered a salad and gave up her “with ranch.”
Who doesn’t want their salad with ranch?
Or their baked potato with butter and sour cream?
But this Word this morning is an even better combo.
Your calling, and make no mistake you have one,
Is a gift,
That comes with a side of GRACE!
That’s right.
God would never ask you to use your new toy, without the batteries.
I’m humanly speaking because the Spirit of God wants us to get the idea.
You and I are not asked to go it alone.
We are called, gifted, and graced.
Everyone of us.
Each, whosoever.
I was speaking with a friend yesterday about my zinnias.
Again.
I’m beyond fascinated.
I’m infatuated.
I’m in Love with God’s Word.
Head over heels.
I had His Seed, put in my hands,
And watched it grow.
And then, scatter it’s own seed.
Just like He said it would.
My seed has given life to seed.
And guess what-
I can share it.
I’ve given flowers, and I’ve given seeds.
That’s what it looks like to use your talents.
I could have kept that life giving source in the packet,
And wonder why I wasn’t increasing–
Or I can place it in the ground,
It may require getting your hands dirty….
And watch it grow, as God and I tend to it.
Yes-
Tend to it.
I was required to water it on the days it didn’t rain.
I had to pull off the dead buds.
But God, he made it grow!
Dear brothers and sisters.
I’m not asking what is your gift,
I’m asking where is your gift?
Is it still in the packet?
Is it in the ground?
Is it multiplying into the lives of others?
You get to make that decision.
And when you do, look at the beauty that emerges-
Be fruitful and multiply.
