“So prepare your minds for action, be completely sober [in spirit—steadfast, self-disciplined, spiritually and morally alert], fix your hope completely on the grace [of God] that is coming to you when Jesus Christ is revealed.”
1 Peter 1:13 AMP
There were some things that I was reminded of, while in the woods this past weekend.
I’ve been Faith hunting for a while now.
I’ve gotten deer before.
But this particular love for deer season was actually how God brought me to repentance.
It began when I couldn’t hit the target.
Missing in target practice.
I knew I had never been good, naturally speaking, but I knew I was Graced.
So, What went wrong?
Through the past couple of years, until last season actually,
I was irritated and short with my husband, who was simply trying to show me what I thought I already knew.
Yet, God said through James, for us to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God so that He can exalt us in due time.
If we won’t humble ourselves, trust me when I say,
We will be humbled!
He loves us too much to let us linger in our folly.
This wasn’t the only area, as I shared before, that I had gotten too big for my britches.
And that has always been a prayer of my heart-
For God to never allow my character to crumble through pride.
Back to the beginnings.
I’ve been back hunting with my man since last year,
And Sure enough, after the humbling, the deer came in, and I made contact.
But what I want to share this morning is about the preparation of our heart.
God knows our hearts.
He knew I wanted a deer.
I knew He knew.
But what would it take to connect the two on earth?
The Word, mixed with faith.
God spoke to my heart out there and said, “Chelsea, just like you’re a citizen of the United States, you’re also a citizen of heaven.”
“There is a system set up here as well.”
“Just because you’re a citizen, doesn’t mean you are partaking in all of the benefits. There are some responses and actions on your part.”
“What are they, I asked.”
“First of all, you’re not prepared.” He said.
“When I bring that deer, your gun is propped up away from you. Doesn’t seem like you are expecting anything.”
I then thanked Him- made adjustments, and within minutes that deer was coming my way.
And not just any deer.
I said Father, if I believe you can bring me a doe, I believe it’s just as easy for you to bring me a buck.
Next time I’ll be a little more specific! Lol.
But a buck is what I got.
We move from faith to faith, but in every facet of receiving, there has to be evidence of faith, which comes from the preparation of our heart.
Faith will display a readiness to receive,
Because It already sees the accomplishment.
My prayer this morning is that every believer in the Finished works of Jesus, let’s their heart
Prepare Him room!
