Fake News

“Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land [of plenty] flowing with milk and honey to kill us in the wilderness, but you would also lord it over us?”
‭‭Numbers‬ ‭16:13‬ ‭AMP‬‬

This is the spirit of rebellion.

What was being said by these rebels was so far from the truth.

In reality they had been brought out of slavery. Yes, there was milk and honey there, (back in Egypt) but they never got any of it.

And there was plenty alright.

Plenty of work without pay.

Plenty of chains and fetters.

Plenty of bondage.

And I dare say that we are staring this spirit in the face this very day.

This very generation.

What these people were believing about their leadership, (led by God)

Was completely bogus.

God had sent Moses to deliver the people.

Not abandon them.

*I’m talking about Jesus here, and although I very much believe God is using our current leader, Jesus is our Ultimate Deliverer.

However, I believe He guides the church to make decisions that affect who leads us while here on this earth.

That being said,

The rebellion seeks to take over.

It’s rooted in fear, because it’s led by fear.

It’s a tantrum mentality.

I’m not getting what I want when I want it, so I’ll just take the lead.

“I can do it better,” is it’s slogan.

But it always ends in death.

There are countless examples in the Word of God.

This spirit is how marriages die, relationships, businesses, and any structure built upon the ethics of the Word of God,

If not caught and dealt with.

It’s trying to tear down this country.

BUT GOD.

Will have the final say.

Just like he did here in this chapter.

He has a good plan for this nation.

A good plan for your marriage and family.

A good plan for your business.

But we have to follow it, not try to take over.

Ask me how I know.

The enemy is subtle.

It starts with a thought.

“They aren’t doing things like I would”

But just like Moses had said before in this verse;

“does it seem but a small thing to you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to Himself, to do the service of the tabernacle of the LORD, and to stand before the congregation to minister to them;”
‭‭Numbers‬ ‭16:9‬ ‭AMP‬‬

When we aren’t happy with the position God gave us and are always thinking we should be or have more,

We are prey to rebellion.

Is it a small thing that Jesus called us His own?

Is it a small thing that people gave their lives so we could have freedom to Worship?

These are the questions I’m asking myself, or rather answering to those hints of discontentment.

The antidote to this deadly spirit is Thanksgiving.

It’s never just a day for those of us in Christ, it’s a lifestyle.

I admonish you today, to silence every thought that fights against your giving thanks.

Start with all the small things and you’ll be overwhelmed by His Goodness at how He has led you this far.

The children of Israel that were in the uprising had forgotten where they had come from.

They had been slaves.

We all were.

Jesus said to the Religious elite who swore they were never slaves to anyone..

33 ¶ They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?34 ¶ Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

We’ve all been slaves to sin.

Let us not forget, and celebrate our freedom from it.

Father, help everyone of us return our hearts to the simple Joy of being yours.
