“Do not rush out to argue your case [before magistrates or judges]; Otherwise what will you do in the end [when your case is lost and] When your neighbor (opponent) humiliates you? Argue your case with your neighbor himself [before you go to court]; And do not reveal another’s secret,”
Proverbs 25:8-9 AMP
I could have also titled this post Blabbermouth.
My Father has been speaking a lot to me in this season about self control.
I’m sure He started with me sometime back.
As a matter of fact, I’m certain…
He began speaking of this notion, while I was watching my man race.
In the racing scene, particularly, in bracket racing,
It doesn’t matter how fast your car, or how much power you have under the hood,
If you can’t control yourself at the light.
If you let go of that button or brake before the light turns green,
You’re disqualified.
I’ve seen super slow cars beat the biggest and baddest of cars, by simply remaining self controlled.
It reminds me of a fella named Joseph.
He had a God given, high- powered destiny.
But He was a Rookie.
A blabbermouth.
It wasn’t good enough for him to just keep the dreams God had given him to himself…
He needed to tell someone.
Especially his brothers, who were already irritated by him because of jealousy.
Why not add a little fuel to the fire and tell of how they would be bowing before him some day?!
I’m so guilty of this.
Some call it shooting off at the mouth.
And Solomon guided his readers to just settle what needs settled before it grows into something bigger.
I’m becoming more and more certain that if we are settled, in Jesus, then no matter how unsettling situations are,
We stand our post!
There’s nobody to blame, but me…
When I allow the enemy the right to invade.
The Word says no weapon will prosper,
So it can’t.
The Word says I’m healed,
So that’s what I’ll say and see.
Here we go my dear ones…
The summation: of self control-
If God be for us, who can be against us.
If we can control our own thoughts that try and exalt themselves against the Truth, then we can control every other outside invasion by that Standard.
We rest, and keep our cool by taking whatever it is to the Word!
Wait for His Green Light….
