Here we go…..
Operation: Restoration Part 1.
I get so stinking excited about what that picture (above) portrays.
Restoration Parts.
We know there are many parts to a vehicle.
So, Let’s look at our vehicle, spiritually speaking.
It’s our ministry.
It’s how we get around in life.
There are so many different kinds of vehicles.
And for many reasons people still drive around clunkers-
I’m talking their spiritual vehicles as well.
But I’m not one of those people.
I have.
And I wasn’t fond of it.
Even then, Jesus was restoring parts for me.
One time, our family was on a trip to Branson and the van we were driving just stopped running.
There were no service stations around at that place on the road,
But Praise God we are never without Him, and He is the Author of all things.
So. In the faith launching, spiritual, cash checking, Name of Jesus,
I said, “God you know the part that’s not working, so with all due respect,
Get under the hood and fix it.”
And, HE DID!
We not only made it,
to Branson, but that van lasted a couple more years and ended up being a seed into our next harvest!
Notice I said, we made it.
I want to emphasize this Truth, again, in this restoration journey.
You will always make it.
Greater is He that is in you, if Jesus, the Greater One, lives in you.
And He was cool with us just making it, but He had an even better ride for us after that.
I wasn’t even planning on sharing that.
So, consider that bonus parts! 😂
I love when I get those.
Back to the Nova and the restoration.
Evidently the first part my hubby ordered was the roof.
I was shocked to hear that.
Whether he didn’t tell me, or I wasn’t listening, I had gotten really excited about his ordering the rear quarter panel, that I did hear him talking about.
Mainly, because I was having issues with my own rear quarter panel.
My back was giving me some serious attitude.
Stop here with me, and I’m going to show you my rust spot.
I’ve shared before that God will often use physical symptoms to reveal spiritual hinderances.
Fast forward to today, that part was ordered about a week ago, and we are still waiting……
🙄
We can kid ourselves but that’s the emoji God gets from our behavior, while waiting.
But He’s so Rocking awesome that during the waiting,
We start to analyze the part that’s being restored.
My rear (my past) had some things that needed dealt with.
Dust and I had some things that were hindering our relationship where communication was concerned.
Again, my hearing.
And heeding.
In our relationship with Jesus, He’s always speaking.
He’s actually already SPOKEN.
But we fail to listen, fully.
Sometimes we only hear the way we want to hear.
Fully listening means we stop long enough to let what’s being communicated sink into our hearts.
As I began to run this morning, I spent about 2 seconds stretching.
That’s not much.
I had once heard that stretching was good for me, but didn’t want to hear that.
Ever been there?
The Holy Spirit then began to minister to me about stretching.
Often, on our own, we think we have a natural ability to do what we want without taking correction.
Stretching helps us with the capacity of what we are getting ready to endure, or birth, so to speak.
Not being weird, but think of the stretching or dilating before childbirth.
I have just been bypassing the stretching, because I don’t want to take the time to do it.
Really, we should, before and after the workout.
It restores our bodies.
It’s the same on a spiritual level.
We have to allow the Spirit of God to stretch our capacity for the next season.
The Nova started out a 67 Nova in 67.
In its prime.
Just a regular daily driver.
But then, placed in our hands, King’s Kids, we decided to get with God and take it above and beyond simple restoration, or driving it around as a clunker.
Look at this in the Spirit realm.
We were made, originally (good)
God said everything He created was good.
But then we fell because of sin.
We were reconciled, bought back (acceptable)
John 3:16
But now we’re being fully restored, (perfect) Will of God according to Romans 12.
We’re stretching the Nova to it’s full capacity.
Romans 12:2 says;
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The stretch is in our mind.
We’ve come out of good.
What we are driving now, is acceptable,
But we’ve been stretching towards the Perfect will of God for our lives.
We want to see that for you and your family as well.
You were made with the capability to not just drive, but to race!
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; wh for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2
Just like taking on the restoration of a car can seem overwhelming,
So does the restoration of our lives.
But we look at the end result.
We need to start seeing our lives the way Jesus sees them through what He spent for them to be.
He’s paid the price for full restoration.
Let’s not settle for anything less than God’s Best.
