I’m asking the Holy Spirit some questions about myself today,
As He already knows all of my ponderings.
I just seemed a little off.
Then I heard Him say, “Where did you get that black eye?”
It makes sense, if I’m brutally honest with myself.
I’ve been seeing a little funky this morning.
Especially when the Word is pure light.
Jesus said that if our eye is single…. then we are flooded with light.
When we look, even at the dark things going on around us, it can be light to us if our eye is single.
God gave me the example while ago about being in a building with the lights on, even though it’s dark outside.
The darkness can’t overtake the light!
What if we looked at everything through rose colored glasses, instead of black ones?
What if the scrutinizing and criticizing stopped?
What if we saw things on the bright side of eternity instead of the depression of this world?
What if we really looked at every situation through the blood stained lenses of Truth?
What if we looked at what Jesus did and said about us, and what He did and said on behalf of others?
Jesus had a single eye.
“Forgive them Father, they know not what they do.”
So, Who did I allow to black my eye?
Me.
No one else can be blamed for what I allow or how I perceive things.
Not when Jesus paid for revelation light to come in.
I want to encourage, or rather ask you the same question that I was asked today…
Where did you get that black eye?
Maybe you don’t have one.
Excellent.
But if you do, Let Him heal it up so you can see clearly again.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16
