When I was a son with my father (David), Tender and the only son in the sight of my mother (Bathsheba),”
Proverbs 4:1, 3 AMP
Have you ever taken your old battery back to the store to get a reimbursement for the core charge, when buying a new one?
Or I’m sure you’ve heard in a Christian colony somewhere that the Lord gives and takes away.
It’s An exchange, if you will.
And The Lord does, give and take away, but it’s different than what most think in this new covenant agreement.
The Core of the new covenant, Jesus paid for us is this:
For all the promises of God in him areyea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. 1 Corinthians 1:20
Every promise has been fulfilled.
Thus, He gives.
The curse of the law, that demanded a certain behavior and keeping of the law-
He took away.
Simple as that.
So as I took that core understanding to what Holy Spirit was inspiring in my heart yesterday,
I got excited.
Bathsheba, the mother of this “only son” had another baby you know?
It had died.
It was the firstborn after the affair and murder of her husband.
Yes, talk about horror show.
And yet, when David repented, things were restored.
My thoughts in all of this were towards Bathsheba.
She didn’t ask for any of it.
Have you ever felt that way?
Yet God turned things around for her and restored her son Solomon to become one of the greatest King’s who had ever lived.
His Wisdom excelled all the others.
Yet, we, as Children oh God and co heirs with Jesus, have been given even greater.
Our children, both spiritually( converts and disciples) and physically (your own offspring) are now King’s and priests unto God, as they belong to Jesus.
Notice the scripture said that Solomon was the only son in his mother’s sight.
Can we look at things like that?
Can we zone in and tenderly care for what we do have.
Focus on what’s been given?
How many times do we experience hang ups in the could -have -beens and why me God?
She could have allowed the depression of losing her child keep her from embracing the God of giving and taking away.
God didn’t take the baby from her.
Sin did.
It was a curse of the law.
But now, Praise Jesus, the curse has been lifted.
I don’t know what has died in your life.
Maybe a physical family member or even child.
I’m not making light of that, but I am making LIGHT of that.
Today can be the day that you make the change in your mind to look ahead and see only the Living.
Raise the rest of your life!
Let God take away the pain and give you Healing.
Beauty for ashes.
Bringing Glory unto His Name.
