What’d I Miss?

We chuckled, around the fire, as the guys got back Sunday, while learning that there was a selection of deer blazing by my father in law as he slept!

My hubby wasn’t far from where Pa was set up and was amazed to hear nothing coming from his bow and arrow, as he watched several deer slowly creep by.

Later he found out, that Pa was taking a power nap.

Much to my surprise this morning, after getting back into the Word I had put down yesterday, while trying to care for my son,

I realized what Father had brought before me as well:

“But those who wait for the LORD [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:31‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Even though I didn’t get “a shot” at this scripture yesterday, it was still, by His Grace, fulfilled in our lives.

After a long weekend of getting up early and trying to hunt, while tidying up camp, we came home to my little buddy not feeling well.

I was exhausted.

Have you ever felt like you only had fumes in your faith tank?

As the symptoms I saw in his body screamed louder, so did the condemnation of the could haves and should have maybes…

All the things I seemingly could have done to cause what was happening.

I’m just being real.

I had missed church to hunt.

Yet while in the woods, I’m studying the book of Galatians that reminds us that our blessing is not contingent on what we do.

It’s who we know.

And what we Believe He did for us.

So then comes the still small voice,

Trust the Word.

Simple and Accurate.

So, I did.

That’s where my eagle soaring abilities began switching gears.

I casted the care on Jesus.

We kept speaking the Word.

I kept looking to The Word- building my faith.

Then as I was cleaning up the mess from the night before, I was led to my Grandma’s bible and found her little booklet on communion.

Issac hadn’t kept anything down since Sunday eve.

So, we mounted up on the Word!

We took communion together,

And he never got sick again!

He slept through the night perfectly.

The Word is always working.

The sacrifice has been made.

It’s up to us to take it!

Just like those deer swarming my stand that my father in law let pass by.

Don’t sleep on the blessing!

Don’t allow God’s Word to pass you up!
