Let It Be

“but let it be [the inner beauty of] the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality and unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, [one that is calm and self-controlled, not overanxious, but serene and spiritually mature] which is very precious in the sight of God.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:4‬ ‭AMP‬‬

As soon as I read this, I heard the tune..

“Let it be. Let it be. Let it be, oh Let it Be.”

Then I began to really chew on this.

The hidden person of the heart, is our Spirit.

The Holy One.

Perfect.

Charming, gentle, peaceful, serene.

Like I’ve said before, I picture Mama Berenstein Bear….

My flesh, however, is more like Gru, from

Despicable Me.

So, how does Mama come forth, instead of Gru?

It has to bypass the soul.

Your will, and emotions, say when.

The Holy Spirit won’t force Himself on anyone.

Including you and I.

He’s again, a gentleman.

As I see it, it’s a matter of yielding.

Sounds simple, and it is, but it’s easier said, then done.

Otherwise we would have the world on its knees turning to Jesus.

His Goodness leads to repentance.

So, this would go along with the mirror I noticed the other morning.

If I don’t check myself out, I don’t know what I look like to others…

Our mirror as Christians, is the Word.

It reflects who we really are.

So often we see the Word and try and change to match it,

But I’m learning to let it be.

Let the Word become flesh.

Let the Word bring forth the life, Jesus implanted in you.

Think back to the beginning.

God said, LET there be Light.

And it was.

The darkness had to allow Light to penetrate by the Word.

You’re a triune being.

So catch this….

When the Spirit, and the Word (out of your mouth) agree, touching anything, you’ll have what is said.

The Word was spoken and the Spirit hovered, and light was.

2/3 is a majority.

Let the majority rule in your life starting today.
