“Moses gave us the Law, but Jesus, the Anointed One, unveils truth wrapped in tender mercy.”
John 1:17 TPT
I had made some delicious jalapeño poppers, the night before I read this.
Anything wrapped in bacon and stuffed with cheese is a win in my book!
Especially something that’s brining the heat….
So, when I read the scripture above, I immediately thought of this word picture.
Moses served a plain jalapeño.
The law-
Is what it is. Do it or die.
Jesus, however, came with the heat, or standard,
wrapped, in tender mercy.
He showed us the way,
and then equipped us, (wrapped us in His Grace)
by coming alongside and walking it out before us.
He showed us the why, so to speak-with the way.
He showed us that God wasn’t mad at us and just trying to get us to fail,
By giving us a list of dos and dont’s.
Mostly dont’s…
But rather, in love with us,
and wanting to see us succeed in the life planned for us all along.
So, I have to ask myself,
Am I serving poppers?
Or just plain peppers?
How I’m feeding on the Word is going to determine how I present it to others.
If I see only the heat, I’m going to share a spicy and hard to swallow Word to others.
But if I see the truth, wrapped in mercy for me,
Then I’ll share it that way.
Remember, the law kills, but the Spirit gives us life.
