Knowing or Growing?

“But prove yourselves doers of the word [actively and continually obeying God’s precepts], and not merely listeners [who hear the word but fail to internalize its meaning], deluding yourselves [by unsound reasoning contrary to the truth]. For if anyone only listens to the word without obeying it, he is like a man who looks very carefully at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he immediately forgets what he looked like. But he who looks carefully into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and faithfully abides by it, not having become a [careless] listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he will be blessed and favored by God in what he does [in his life of obedience].”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:22-25‬ ‭AMP‬‬

I beginning to know a lot about gardening… but that won’t feed you.

Unless I actually use the knowledge to grow the plants, we would starve.

The world glories in the “knowledge is power” mantra, and it can be,

mixed with the doing of what we know.

I’ve just been pondering the past couple of days, on Holy Spirit’s question to me..

“Are you knowing the Word, Chelsea, or Growing The Word?”

Most of the time, were caught in the knowing and wanting to tell others what we know.

But that only works if they bypass what we aren’t doing with that knowledge and begin doing it themselves.

Remember when Jesus said, Do as they say, speaking of the Pharisees,

But not as they do.

Why not as they do?

Because they weren’t doing anything!

They wanted to talk it, but not walk it.

Jesus wants the growth not just the knowth!

Ask me how I know these things, and how I’m learning to grow these things instead of just talking about what I know!

The Father’s desire is that I have fruit for you to taste and see that the Lord is good-

Not just give you a mouth watering bunch of what I know can be grown.

Growth happens when we apply what we know to be Truth.

We can, Brothers and Sisters, grow the Word.

They Word is already in you.

Let it come forth!
