There’s nothing more frustrating then getting to camp after a long days hike, starting to unpack, only to find you forgot something.
Especially an important something that affects all the other items you’ve packed.
One of our favorite you tubers was on the T V series Alone.
The contestants for the show were allowed ten items to make the most of their time in the wilderness.
One of Joe’s items, a fire steel, got lost.
Without it, all the other items lost their value.
So, I say that, to pair with this today:
“If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love. Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, Doesn’t have a swelled head, Doesn’t force itself on others, Isn’t always “me first,” Doesn’t fly off the handle, Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, Doesn’t revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end.”
1 Corinthians 13:3-7 MSG
You can have all the right actions, but without the right motive, it’s useless.
You may as well pack back up and go home!
In this season, my prayer for us on this journey, is to have our eyes enlightened and our awareness heightened,
Of His love for us,
that will reach out to others with effectiveness.
“I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective and powerful because of your accurate knowledge of every good thing which is ours in Christ.”
Philemon 1:6 AMP
Just lately, I’ve had to examine my motives.
We’ve done some pretty good things this summer, but if we left off love,
They are useless.
So, it’s Time to recalibrate according to HisWord.
We need to start unpacking our spiritual backpacks for inventory.
Find His Love,
And, Then, we will find fulfillment in all the other things!
