Drop The Rocks

I’ve been in John 8 a lot lately.

When I say I’ve been..

I’ve been.

Right there,

ready to be stoned,

And ready to throw them.

I find it amazing how the shadows and types of History, come alive today.

And confirm our lives.

Do you remember when Nathan the Prophet went to David with the story of the man who had all the sheep but took the only one of the farmer’s?

Maybe you heard it through Veggietales, “King George and His Duckie.”

Either way, The Prophet was trying to get David to see, what He had been failing to hear from The Holy Spirit.

David was ready to throw stones at such a murderous and stingy man,

Until He could finally see,

HE WAS THAT MAN.

We can be in the Word every day, indulging in scripture,

Just like David,

Just like the Pharisees,

But when we fail to do it,

It’s hypocrisy.

And, it is heart wrenching before God and those around us.

When Jesus, spoke, conviction arrested those hearts.

Much like mine lately.

I think we, just like them, when compared to the sinlessness of Jesus,

Need to start dropping our rocks!

The difference that day, was the one who recognized she had sinned.

She knew she was guilty.

And agreed.

But the only One who could throw stones,

Didn’t.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1John 1:8-9

Thank you Jesus.

For your Mercy.
