““The eye is the lamp of the body; so if your eye is clear [spiritually perceptive], your whole body will be full of light [benefiting from God’s precepts].”
Matthew 6:22 AMP
“I was blind, now I’m seeing in color.”
This has been progressive for me.
And it always, always,
has to do with trees.
I remember years ago, as my spiritual eyes started to open,
I saw trees, as if it was the first time…
So vibrant.
They were so full, of life.
Now, here I am on my walk with Jesus, and my husband, in the smack dab middle of the forest, and I see hints of red and yellow emerging from the once green trees and shrubs.
It’s the hint of seasons changing.
Yet again.
He’s faithful to it every year.
They, the seasons, change for our benefit, ya know?
Each passing season, cuts off, and then yields.
It was a double portion season for me this part of my life.
Reflective both spiritually and physically.
I saw seeds that I had sown in previous years now popping up with fruit in unlikely places.
Grace.
I plan to expound on this picture of Grace soon,
But for now, my focus is on the oncoming color.
The colors of fall.
Fall.
Even falling leaves, bring on beauty as they are actually transitioning from life to death.
A shedding if you will.
And the colors remind me of one of those color by number pages, where you can’t see the full depth of the image, until you’ve followed the step by step direction.
I think we will look back on our lives and discover what God has seen along.
If, we look for the color.
Until my eye was single, seeing Jesus in
Every. Thing.
I just saw, trees.
Much like the man I mentioned before whom Jesus spit on.
But now, I see so much more, the variety of His character, and color.
Make no mistake, the rainbow HAS ALWAYS belonged to the Father.
The devil has nothing, so he steals.
But God, has placed the reality of His Kingdom in the hearts of his children, so when we see color,
We see covenant.
Colors bring about the certainty that God will do as He said He would.
As sure as leaves fall, winter will arrive.
And so on with the seasons.
Let this be a reminder to you, today, of Who’s you are.
When you see the red, and yellow and orange and every tertiary color in between that fascinates your eye,
Know that you see it because your eye is becoming more and more single.
Soon, we will only see Jesus.
And as we turn our eyes to Him, everything else grows strangely dim.
Why wouldn’t it!?
We’re beholding All THINGS when we behold Him.
