In the Bourne series, this is a common question, among Bourne and his comrades.
Trusting those who were supposed to be on the right side of things had become more and more dangerous.
I can’t say I haven’t felt that same struggle.
In my early years as a believer, I was shocked that not all that say one thing, actually live what they say.
They didn’t all have the same Source.
1 John 4 addresses this same issue that the early church was facing.
Yet John said there was a sure fire way to discern.
A simple one really…
The acknowledgment and confession that Jesus had indeed come in the flesh.
God is that Source.
Now, we may not all agree on every form of doctrine,
But we can agree, that Jesus coming in the flesh, makes us to share THE SAME SOURCE.
Paul said in another place, I believe 1 Corinthians, that no other foundation can any man lay…
Other than Jesus!
Whatever is built upon that Foundation will be exposed to fire and either burned or remain.
Reminds me of David at Ziklag.
Even before Jesus came, He had his eyes on His righteousness.
The ephod was a symbol of that.
Though everything he had “built” was burned and taken captive,
When He latched back on to the truth about where His Source was,
He was told He Would RECOVER ALL.
I don’t know what may have burned you, or what you seem to have lost,
But I do know, that when Jesus is your Source, there is nothing beyond recovering!
He is the One who Gave to begin with.
Grab on To His Righteousness that He gave to you.
Ephesians refers to it as the Helmet of Salvation.
Cover your mind with His Truth today.
You will recover all.
