If You Love Me….. Feed My Sheep

“Jesus repeated his question the second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you burn with love for me?” Peter answered, “Yes, my Lord! You know that I have great affection for you!” “Then take care of my sheep,” Jesus said.”
‭‭John‬ ‭21:16‬ ‭TPT‬‬

In the mouth of two or three witnesses, Let every Word Be Established.

You know the Establishment signs you see in stores or on buildings?

They let you know when that way of life began.

For Peter, It was here that Jesus was establishing Him and the ministry that Jesus knew and had spoken over him all along.

Peter’s perception of himself DID NOT CHANGE, Jesus’ perception.

What Jesus had to establish in Peter’s heart, was not Peter’s love for Him, but His Love and encouragement to Peter.

Feed my sheep…

Peter was seeing through a cloud of condemnation.

There was no doubt, after his denial, that He still wanted Jesus.

But did Jesus still want Him?

This is the root of why we go back fishing… to whatever or however we may have lived before Jesus.

We want to follow Him, but we ask in the deepest part of our hearts if we missed His boat?

So, Jesus went the full restoration process for Peter.

Meeting Him back at every turn of denial to restore His heart.

Three times.

Feed my Sheep.

Jesus wasn’t looking at the denial, but Peter still was.

Jesus needed to take the eraser to it, by speaking Truth over it.

Feed my sheep..

Peter must have heard;

Yes: I still want you.

Yes: I still want you.

Yes: YOU’RE STILL MINE.

It’s as if Jesus was saying…

“And now, Peter, pick up where YOU LEFT OFF, and Walk in my love FOR YOU towards others.”

“Your brothers and sisters will need this food.”

When you are converted:

Your own strength converted to mine-

Strengthen your brethren.

With what?

The JOY OF THE LORD:

The JOY OF BELIEVING WE ARE AND WILL FOREVER BE HIS-

Not because of what we can do for Him,

But Praise Him,

Because of WHAT HE HAS DONE FOR US!
