“Likewise, you younger men [of lesser rank and experience], be subject to your elders [seek their counsel]; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another [tie on the servant’s apron], for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD [the disdainful, the presumptuous, and He defeats them], BUT H E GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.”
1 Peter 5:5 AMP
After being asked why they hadn’t spoken much,
I remember someone saying,
after sitting quietly for some time,
“I already know what I know. If I listen to others I will learn something I don’t know.”
Reminds me of the woman at the well.
She was doing much speaking, assuming she needed to tell Jesus what she knew.
Instead, He said,
after she quieted,
“If you only knew, the gift God wants to give you. You’d ask of me.”
What is God trying to get to you and I today in our quietness?
Let’s take it down a notch.
It’s easy to say what’s on our mind.
But it’s not always easy to listen.
“They that have ears to hear,” Jesus said, would gain The insight of the Kingdom.
